That’s so much hands on handmade handiwork!! SO impressive and creative. Well done you two (and four legged ‘inspectors’)!
Gotta love the massive geraniums. I used to live in a place with a skylight over the refrigerator, so started overwintering a couple up there. Five years on, they're now in a sunny SW window up at latitude 47°, and have bloomed off and on all winter! The shot of color is such a thrill in cold grey months. Wonderful discovery to stumble on.
That rock wall is unique and stunning, but I wouldn’t like an image in it either. If you plan on going through it for a door, how? Sounds extremely daunting. Rock saws? Sledge hammer and ER visits? Talk about plans “hitting the wall”…. a biggie.
What a lot of great things coming together for you all. It’s really exciting and everyone is happy for you. It’s lovely that you’re sharing your joy with us. We’re rooting for you!
Wow! I love it! Must be a joy for you guys to see the transformation and know that your home can only evolve into an even more beautiful expression of your growing family in the future. I bet all those cozy nooks will be fun for the little one when they grow up.
Love this and how your vision is being realized! I am just beginning the big renovation on my "new" home after 2-1/2 years in it and I can see I need more "before" and "after" pictures. Going to go out there and do a video tomorrow before demolition and reconstruction begins. I will be using a contractor and licensed plumber and electrician at this stage but like you, I walked into this home and knew exactly what was needed that others had not seen.
I'm even more impressed that you got all the stuff put away, or put elsewhere. I am still holding on to an enormously over-priced storage unit because I cannot with the stuff I don't know what to do with.
I wonder if the rock wall cross would be better covered with a piece of fabric art? (I know you are not looking to spend more money OR for advice!) The art that is there feels like it's waiting to be hung, not actively distracting from something, uh, gross.
Well the very first photos are from when we toured, so not our stuff! But the midway photo holds a lot of things that were donated. So, easy to put away when it's not yours anymore 😂
That's a neat idea about fabric art. We'll see how long it takes us to knock out that center part of the wall. Might be worth a longer term solution in the interim.
It looks beautiful--congrats!
As to what touches are nice for a guest room: I always like when there's a box of tissues, a mirror, a trash can, and a place to put my suitcase.
Ahhh good tips 🙏🏼
Wow, well done! You’re birthing a house personality 🤓

I'm so glad we had the foresight to be taking those before photos! It makes the afters feel so much more meaningful.
Wow! Great work!!

I love seeing the cabin evolution! Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful room! The fact that you two did it without professional support must make you very proud. Thanks for the history and the tour!
i'm comin ova!
My first thought: “I love those coffin bookshelves!” Thanks for sharing. Nice report.
That's a massive transformation! Congrats on getting that big project knocked out and off your urgent to-do list.
Such fun to create your home!
It really is.
It might not be exactly what you want but it looks great!!!!!! Crazy that you did all that in such a short amount of time 🤌
You'll have to leave a review next time the cats summon you.
Gladly ☺️ have them let me know when, and I’ll be there
