This may sound trite but it makes me happy how happy you are in your chosen home and that we get to hear about it. There are challenges, sure, but so many great things happening!
All this just sounds beautiful to me. I live in a tropical country where the sun beats down on us 24*7. We get heat strokes here. A different perspective I guess.
I thought of you this week when watching, of all things, a tour of a camper set up on someone's pickup. The only decor they had in the whole thing was one of your posters. <3
What a lovely ode to the challenges of mountain winters and the way that the first signs of spring make you almost forget them… almost 😬. Up here, everyone leaves in November, the less fun mud season. April is for the final skin laps and the first low elevation hikes and the joy of finally starting to see some green (that’ll be the back half of the month, but still!). Hope you have a fabulous break celebrating the second winter!
And I thought my Colorado winter experience down here at 4700 feet was a challenge! We had three arctic blasts; one brought a wind chill of minus twenty below. I never had to shovel more than six inches of snowfall at a time. Thanks for the perspective. I will never complain about winter again! Happy Springtime!
This morning over coffee, I read the news. I felt distressed and somewhat hopeless.
So I retreated to your stories about the winter and wind, mountain dogs and cats.
I feel better now.

That makes me happy!
I love your Blog and am so glad you are taking time off in April - Your a true "local" now! Have a wonderful vacation.
And how good it is to have a blog again. 💞

I am excited to dance along the edges of heat stroke in 90° weather next week 😂 If I could send you a little of this snow globe, I would!
And I would gladly take it :)
Just wonderful writing Kelton. “like living in a snowglobe being held by a rampaging toddler” - gold!
Thank you!!
I miss my childhood in Colorado and you bring it all back for me, week after week. Thank you. Have a an excellent break!
Oh I love to hear that 💖
Savoring your words and your perfect capture of the experience. Enjoy some lovely time off!
LOVED *clap* THIS *clap* WRITING

Enjoy some laps for me! I do have envy for that part!
We got a surprise foot overnight and I just got off the hill—one major perk of mountain life!
Amazing. Our resort is like "if we see you on the mountain the week after closing day, we'll lasso you and hang you by your skis from the entry gate."
Ha, ours is similar, except we’re allowed on one run (the one with the designated uptrack) for that first week.

Hahah, we all have to air our grievances. At least we don't seem to get arctic blasts!
