Looove your back and forth of “am I a writer or not?” even though, of course, the answer is yes.
Kudos to you also for actually allowing a “break” to be a break, instead of succumbing to the hustle mentality that always seems to gnaw at all of us. And, dare I say, particularly writers.
Coop didn't look all that impressed after his "adventure..." Nicely done. Enjoy the break to the fullest and good luck with your ideas. I'm in the same boat here in this hiking paradise in Southwest Germany. See you at the workshop...
I look forward to your writing every week… especially loved the evolution of this piece from the structured life of work to the unstructured and unpredictability of the wilds. You always bring in the lens so I feel like I’m making the movie. Thx!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who lives his own action movie when he’s alone. I’ve never held a roll of wrapping paper that didn’t become a sword (or light saber!), nor a broom that didn’t suddenly make me Donatello.
I’m weird, what can I say? But I feel seen now. So thanks for being vulnerable.
Love, love, love this. So glad you asked for and are taking this break. Thank you for sharing the behind scenes.
And heck yes to chaotic May weather—it snowed at my house on Mother's Day, and I'm barely at 3,300 feet. Hiking has to wait a little bit longer, at least if I want to gain any elevation. Hope you can enjoy a bear-free hike soon!

Now I just need to calm the part of my brain fighting it hah
An incredibly easy and straightforward thing to do in my experience *ahem*

Good on you for taking a break! What an awesome encounter with that bear!
Your newsletter is so great, and this might be my favorite one yet. As Olivia said above, love your relatable honesty!
Oh no now I have to top it 😂 jk jk thank you very much!
Awesome. All of it!
I love your newsletter. I never know what you will talk about but I always know that I will be entertained and usually educated. Have a great week!
Glad my "spaghetti at the wall" approach is working, hah! <3
A wonderful, engaging read - as always. You have such a compelling voice, kelton.
Very much appreciate this, Bailey! <3
